[MATTHEW 24:28 NIV]Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.

[MATTHEW 24:28 KJV]For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

This is a hard verse to interpret and explain. I offer my 3 explanations.

[EXPLANATION #1]Carcass or dead bodies attract the birds to eat. In the preceding verses, Jesus warns Christians not to follow false christs and false prophets, even if they perform great miracles. Jesus is comparing people who follow after false christs / prophets, as to vultures / eagles who seek after dead flesh. These false christs / prophets offer dead doctrines and dead faith. Contrast this to Jesus Christ who offers Living Waters [JOHN 4:10] and is the Bread of Life [JOHN 6:35].

[JOHN 4:10]Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”

[JOHN 6:35]Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

[CONCLUSION #1] Carcass = dead flesh and dead teachings of false teachersVultures / eagles = people who follow, chase and believe in false christs and prophets
