Explaining Revelation 17:3-6

v3 — I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy

** Scarlet = red color of sin. See Isaiah 1:18 and Hebrews 9:19

** Beast = Usage of beast in book of revelation refers to kingdoms

** Blasphemy = Speaks out against YHWH. Switches right for wrong (or wrong for right), abusive language, slanderous, evil speaking.

v4 — the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication.

** Arrayed in purple and scarlet color = the colors of their official costumes. This worldwide religion dresses up their leaders in these colors. Guess??

** Decked with gold, precious stones, pearls = Outward flaunting of their material wealth. This worldwide religion displays their opulent jewellry during worship services. Guess??

** Golden cup = During the communion services, they hold a golden cup as their main symbolic artifact. Guess??

v6 — And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

** Drunken with blood of saints = only one worldwide religion throughout its history, has martyred countless people of Jesus

** Blood of martyrs of Jesus = many believers of Jesus had died because of this one worldwide religion.

RECAP
