Unit price per can of Campbell’s tomato soup since 1900. Unlike a lot of other products, the iconic #1 can of Campbell’s tomato soup cannot easily hide the effects of inflation by shrinking while keeping the same price.
We are seeing inflation take hold in 2021 as the prevailing sale price converges near $1 per can while discounter sale pricing by retailers become both smaller and less frequent.
