The bible states DO NOT follow the traditions of man and DO NOT decorate an evergreen tree with silver and gold. (Jeremiah 10:1-5)
In the bible, YHWH forbids the people from celebrating these type of traditions. He told the his people of Israel not to behave the way the heathen do. He described pagans going out to get an evergreen tree, fasten it with hammer and nails and wood so that it stands upright, and decorate it with silver and gold. Then the pagans would sit around the tree and pray to their pagan gods.
Read Jeremiah 10:1-15 (and think of Christmas trees). Sounds like the bible is describing the Christmas tree. The Christmas tree is today’s version of the Old Testament evergreen palm tree.

10:1 Hear ye the word which the Lord speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
2 Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
