[Matt 24:10-14]
10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Jesus continues His explanation to His disciples. He explains what to expect in the time period, between His ascension to heaven and before His second coming.

v10 = Indicates a great falling away of superficial Christians who did not have a strong and deep foundation with Jesus. Those who have fallen away from the faith will despise those who choose to remain in the faith. The faithful ones will be betrayed.

v11 = Deception will increase within the church. Just like the falling away of surface christians, false prophets within the church will grow. Many christians who are not rooted in the Word of God will likely be deceived by the false teachings of the false prophets.

v12 = The hearts of man will become more evil. The hearts of man will become calloused and hardened and de-sensitized. Man will not pursue the truths of God.

v13 = We who profess to be true disciples will stand firm to the end. We shall not let our hearts grow cold. We shall not be swayed by wickedness. We shall not turn away from our faith.

v14 = Jesus said that before the end can come, the gospel message must go out to the whole world. Nothing can prevent the spread of the gospel. The gospel of the kingdom must be heard by every single person. And then, and only then, shall the end come.
