What is the feast of first fruits?
The feast of first fruits, which occur on the 17th day of Nisan, is a celebration of the harvest. The feast of first fruits marks the beginning of the harvest season. The first sheaves of the harvest are presented to the temple priests as an offering. It is to acknowledge that it is God who had blessed them with a harvest. Where a sheaf representing the very first fruits of the harvest is waved before the Lord. It is portrayed as a symbolic gesture dedicating the coming harvest to Him. This sheaf is likely to be barley, which is oftentimes the first crop to ripen. [Lev 23:9-14]

How did Jesus fulfill this feast?
Jesus is the New Testament fulfillment of the Jewish feast of first fruits. Jesus resurrection from the tomb occurred on the day of the feast of first fruits. Therefore, the first fruits of God’s kingdom harvest was Jesus Christ. His resurrection is like a wave offering presented to the Father as the first-fruits of the harvest to come at the end of the age. [1 Cor 15:20-23]
