Which equipment in the armour of God is the only offensive weapon? Sword of the spirit, the Word of God. All 5 other equipment are defensive in nature.
What are included in the Sword of the Spirit?
1. God’s written Word – bible
2. God’s incarnate Word as Logos – Jesus Christ
[John 1:14 Word was made flesh and dwelt among us]
3. God’s spoken Word – Holy Spirit
[Acts 4:25 You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of your servant]
Why is Word of God so powerful? Jesus quoted frequently from it. Important that Christians study the Bible and be immersed with its spiritual power and godly truths.
What did Jesus do when tempted by the devil 3 times when fasting for 40 days? [Matthew 4:1-11] Jesus quoted the Word of God 3 times to rebuke the devil.
What other uses for the Word?
1. [Psalms 119:105] Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
2. [Hebrews 4:12 KJV] For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
3. [2 Tim 3:16-17 KJV] All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
