[Ephesians 6:14] Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist

What is a belt used for? To hold the other pieces of armour and clothing together. To secure the entire outfit. To allow the Christian soldier to move freely and without hindrance.

Why do we put the belt on first? Because bible scripture is your truth. When we know the Word of God, we stand strong. Without the Word of God, we are defeated easily.

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Why is the belt of truth the first item in our armour? Dual purpose. Biblical truth secures and gives us freedom in Christ. With the belt, Christians are prepared to defend against lies and deception.

John 8:44 for there is no truth in him [satan]. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Why is belt of truth important? Christians encouraged to lead a truthful life. A life that is honest, upright, integrity and without deceit. Other people realizes they can depend on us to be a person of truth.
