Post #24 What is the armour of God? Part 1
Ephesians 6:14-17 lists 6 pieces of armour of God:
1 Belt of truth
2 Breastplate of righteousness
3 Shoes of the gospel of peace
4 Shield of faith
5 Helmet of salvation
6 Sword of the Spirit
Why do Christians need to put on the whole armour? Enables us to defend ourselves.
Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
What are my main battles as a Christian? It is spiritual in nature.
Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Why do I need spiritual armour? To withstand and be firmly footed in Jesus Christ when we are in the midst of these battles.
Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
